How we see children

At Precious Cargo, we see each child as an individual with their own needs. Our inclusive approach means every child gets personalized attention and support. We are excited to offer a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Our newly renovated facility spans over 16,000 square feet, with spacious, bright classrooms and play areas designed to foster creativity, learning, and development. Rooms are set up so children can move between activities, with places for group time, quiet play, and messy projects. The day has a steady rhythm that children can predict. We provide nutritious meals throughout the day to keep your child well-fed and energized for their activities.

Teachers notice what each child is working on and plan from there. A child who lines up blocks by size gets a bigger set and a question about what comes next. Children move between quiet corners and busy tables, and adults join in rather than direct from the side. You can ask how this looks for your child's age.

What a day looks like

Mornings start simply. A child comes in, finds their cubby, and settles into a quiet activity while others arrive. Teachers greet each family at the door and note how the night went. Our center will be open from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, so drop-off fits the start of your workday.

Midday mixes play, small-group learning, meals and rest. Children eat together, then settle for quiet time before heading outside. The afternoon holds more play and projects. Teachers follow a routine that builds curiosity, expression, independence and social skills. Nutritious meals come throughout the day.

Afternoon is calmer. Children finish projects, help tidy the room, and get ready for pickup. Teachers share one or two concrete notes about the day, good or hard. If your child takes the bus to or from Lake Local Schools, we manage that transition too. Pickup runs until 5:30 PM, so you are not rushing.

How we work with families

At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did, ate and rested. If you have a question, ask then; staff answer or find out. Small notes and conversations keep you current. Tours are open if you want to see the room first.

New children start with a settling-in plan. You might visit together first, then try a shorter day before a full one. We watch how your child naps, eats, and connects with teachers, and we adjust. You can call to check in, and we will tell you how it is going.

Good questions to ask first

What are the hours?

Our center will be open from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM to accommodate busy schedules, providing full – day care with convenient busing to/from Lake Local Schools..

What ages do you take?

Children from 6 Weeks to 12 Years Old.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. A tour is how most families decide, and children are welcome to come along.

What should my child bring on the first day?

Families usually pack a change of clothes, a comfort item for rest time, and anything your child needs during the day. Label everything with your child's name. We will tell you what else to bring once you enroll.

Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?

Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have, so the best answer comes from asking us directly. Call or email with your child's age and the days you need, and we will tell you what is available.

What if there is no place right now?

If we do not have a place right now, you can ask to be told when one opens for your child's age. We will contact you as soon as we can.
