Preschool.

What preschool looks like at Precious Cargo, and how to ask about a spot.

The Preschool room

The Preschool room runs like a classroom, with areas set up for math, literacy, science, language, and creativity. Children move through these at their own pace, so a child who is ready for more can keep going and a child who needs more time gets it.

Teachers plan activities that build early math and literacy skills, encourage questions and discovery in science, and give children daily chances to talk, listen, and tell stories. Art and make-believe are part of the day too, because creativity and thinking go together.

A child leaves this room more confident in their own ideas and better prepared for what comes next. They learn to work alongside other children, follow a group routine, and try things that feel new. If you have questions about how the day is paced or what your child will do, just ask.

A smiling child in a gray quilted jacket, blue jeans, and white boots stands on red and orange playground steps, holding a red railing.

What to expect

What’s Coming to the New Location?

We are building a new space for children from infant to school age. It will offer the same care as our other locations. We are also partnering with Lake Local Schools for busing, so school-age children can move between class and daycare without the hassle.

Space to Grow, Play, and Learn

The new building is over 16,000 square feet, and every inch is used for children. It includes spacious classrooms and a large gymnasium. Each space is designed so kids can explore, interact, and learn through play at each age milestone.

Security, Communication, and Consistency

Safety comes first. The new building will be covered in security measures. We will keep using Brightwheel, our daily parent communication app, to update you on your child's activities, meals, naps, and milestones throughout the day, just like at our other locations.

Join the Waitlist Today!

Many families have been waiting for another Precious Cargo location. We are now accepting waitlist applications for families who want to be among the first to enroll. Get in touch with any questions, or check our FAQ page. You can add your child's name to the waitlist below.

Why Choose Precious Cargo Preschool and Childcare?

Our goal is a trustworthy, affordable childcare solution for families. Infants just starting to explore, preschoolers discovering new things, and school-age kids who need a safe place after school are all covered. Daily routines will stay similar to our other locations, so your child's experience stays consistent.

What this looks like in practice

In a preschool room, the day has a rhythm: group time, work at tables, play, meals, rest. Children choose from activities the teachers set out, then help tidy up before the next part. Teachers watch what each child can do and adjust the materials, so a child who is ready for more gets more.

The benefits show up at home. Your child may start counting out loud while setting the table. They might tell you the order of the day without being asked. They learn to wait their turn and to ask for help. Those small habits build the confidence they carry into kindergarten.
